Making HunterS and all other Game Maker 8.1 (and before) games run on Windows 10

I started messing with the codes of a couple of my really old game projects, to make them seem faster, by adjusting in-game speeds.

However, that was silly, because what you have to do is make sure the exe files start running with Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility (in compatibility mode)

Go and do that for all exe files created with the old versions of Game Maker.

Now you should be able to run all your games properly on Windows 10.
